FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
What:
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where:
A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Lake IL and McHenry.
When:
Until Further Notice.
Impacts:
Numerous roads, yards, structures, and areas of park
land are flooding along the Fox River Chain of Lakes. Flooding
will continue through at least next week.
Additional Details:
- At 1040 AM CDT, River gauges along the Fox River Chain of
Lakes indicate that water levels are slowly receding
following a crest in major flood stage. The latest forecast
from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources indicates
that water levels should continue to slowly recede into next
week.
- Water levels are expected to remain above flood stage through
most of this coming week. However, if additional heavy
rainfall occurs on Monday, flooding could persist into the
first week of May.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include areas
along the Fox River Chain of Lakes, including Nippersink
Lake, Fox Lake, Pistakee Lake, Petite Lake, Lake Marie,
Channel Lake, and Lake Catherine.

Where:
Menominee River near McAllister.

Until Thursday afternoon.
Impacts:
At 15.0 feet, Water covers the boat docks near the river
gauge and there is extensive flooding of wooded lowland areas.
Additional Details:
- At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 15.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 10:00 AM CDT Saturday was 15.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.7 feet
this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday
evening.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

Fairgrounds are inundated. Low-lying sections of Rivers Edge
Campground are inundated east of Shirland.

flood stage sometime on Sunday.

Irwin Road...Oliver Road...and Shirley Road are impacted.

At 8.5 feet, Water begins to cover County Road LG 2.6 miles
northwest of M-95
At 9.0 feet, Water impacts the yards and a few homes near Bengtson
bridge on County Road LI in South Republic and along Floodwood
Drive near the Michigamme River east of M-95. Approximately 6
inches of water is covering portions of County Road LG northwest
of M-95
At 11.0 feet, Flood waters cover significant portions of County
Road LG between M-95 and Michigamme Dam. Houses near Bengtson
Bridge in South Republic are further impacted by flood waters
At 13.0 feet, Homes in Republic near Munson Park...South Republic
near Bengtson Bridge...and Witch Lake are significantly flooded.
Significant portions of County Roads 601...LG...LE and Newberg
road are flooded

normally dry areas along the shoreline and may affect some paths,
or roads nearest the shore.
Additional Details:
- At 11:00 PM EDT Friday the stage was 383.4 feet.
- Forecast...The lake will rise to flood stage early this
morning. It will then fall to 383.4 feet this afternoon. It
will then rise above flood stage again this evening.

Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.

Impacts:
At 20.5 feet, water inundates some properties and
overtops the temporary corduroy bridge. Company Creek Road
inundated at northern end. Battalion Creek culverts are beginning
to be overtopped. Water begins damaging Wood Road.
Additional Details:
- At 10:30 AM PDT Friday the stage was 21.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 19.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:30 AM PDT Friday was 21.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to recede, falling below
flood stage Saturday morning and continue falling to 20.3
feet by early Tuesday April 28th.
