FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR AREAS DOWNSTREAM OF THE BELLAIRE DAM ON THE INTERMEDIATE RIVER IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING
What:
Potential Flash Flooding caused by high flows from the
Bellaire Dam.
Where:
Bellaire, Michigan in Antrim County downstream of the
Bellaire Dam.
When:
Through Saturday morning.
Impacts:
Increased flows from the Bellaire Dam may result in
flash flooding of low-lying areas below the dam. Flooding may
occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Dam safety experts with state and local emergency services are
monitoring the dam and will issue a public statement as conditions

FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE POTENTIAL COMPROMISE OF THE CALEDONIA-LEWISTON LEVEE ON THE WISCONSIN RIVER REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING
What:
Flash flooding due to the potential compromise of the
Caledonia-Lewiston Levee. The Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resources has indicated that the Calendonia-Lewiston Levee along
the Wisconsin River may become compromised as the river levels
rise. If this takes place, a rapid inundation of water is expected
along the south and west side of the river. The City of Portage is
not anticipated to be impacted by a potential compromise of the
Caledonia-Lewiston Levee.
Where:
A portion of south central Wisconsin, including the
following counties, Columbia and Sauk along the south and west
side of the Wisconsin River. Areas affected include, but are not
limited to the Pine Island State Wildlife Area and portions of
Highway 33. The City of Portage is not anticipated to be impacted
by a potential compromise of the Caledonia-Lewiston Levee.
When:
Through Sunday morning.
Impacts:
A compromised levee may result in flash flooding of
low-lying areas along the Caledonia-Lewiston Levee.
Additional Details:
- Excessive rainfall has resulted in very high water level on
the Wisconsin River. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall
is likely, with locally higher amounts possible.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE POTENTIAL FAILURE OF HESPERIA DAM ON THE WHITE RIVER REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING
What:
Flash Flooding caused by a potential dam or levee failure
continues to be possible at the Hesperia.
Where:
A portion of west central Michigan, including the
following county, Oceana.
When:
Through Friday morning.
Impacts:
Dam failure may result in flash flooding of low-lying
areas below the dam.
Additional Details:
- Local officials and emergency management report water remains
very high on the White River in Hesperia. Water is currently
flowing over the spillway of the Hesperia Dam, and may begin
overtopping the dam itself. Additional rain overnight
continues to increase water levels.
