WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM WEDNESDAY TO 6 PM MDT THURSDAY
What:
Heavy wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5
and 12 inches, with higher amounts over the mountain peaks. Winds
gusting as high as 40 mph.
Where:
Gallatin and Madison County Mountains and Centennial
Mountains.
When:
From 6 PM Wednesday to 6 PM MDT Thursday.
Impacts:
Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be
required for some vehicles. Those in the backcountry should ensure
they are prepared for dangerous conditions.
Additional Details:
The heavy, wet snow may cause instances of
power outages and or tree damage.
Instructions:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1 or visiting the MDT Road Report website.

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM WEDNESDAY TO 6 AM MDT FRIDAY
What:
Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and
15 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
Where:
Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains.
When:
From 6 PM Wednesday to 6 AM MDT Friday.
Impacts:
Recreation in the high country will be impacted by heavy
accumulating snow. Blowing snow could significantly reduce
visibility.
Additional Details:
The strongest winds are forecast this evening
east of the Stillwater River Valley.

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT WEDNESDAY ABOVE 5000 FEET
What:
Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 6 to 12
inches above 5000 feet, with up to 18 inches at the highest peaks.
Minor accumulations of up to 2 inches possible down to 4500 feet.
Southwest winds could gust as high as 50 mph.
Where:
Northern Sierra Nevada and southern Cascades above 5000
feet, including Highway 50, Interstate 80 and Lassen Volcanic
National Park.
When:
Until 5 PM PDT Wednesday.
Impacts:
Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Tuesday and Wednesday commutes.
Additional Details:
Snow levels 5500 to 6500 feet today, lowering
to 4500 to 5500 feet by early Wednesday. Locally lower snow levels
possible in heavier convective showers. Heaviest snowfall expected
this afternoon and evening with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches
per hour at times.
