This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A strong weather system continues to move across the Rockies
through tonight, bringing beneficial rain, and higher elevation
snow, to much of south central and southeast Colorado. Total snowfall
of 8 to 16 inches is possible across the Rampart Range, as well
as across the Wet and Sangre de Cristo mountains, with the
greatest amounts expected across east facing slopes. Total snowfall
of 5 to 10 inches remains possible across the higher terrain of
Fremont county and the eastern slopes of the Central mountains,
with 3 to 7 inches possible across the Wet Mountain Valley. A few
inches, mainly on grassy areas, will be possible across the middle
and upper Arkansas River Valley, portions of the southern I-25
corridor and over northern and western El Paso county. There will
likely be tight gradients in snowfall and accumulations across the
higher terrain.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Precipitation winds down from northeast to southwest through the day
on Friday, as drier air works into the region. This will also bring
the chance for frost across the eastern plains Friday night into
early Saturday morning, with temperatures cooling to around freezing.

A warming and drying trend remains in the offing into the weekend,
though there may be enough lingering moisture to support afternoon
showers across the higher terrain. Another weather system will bring
chances of precipitation as it moves across the region through the
middle of next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be likely over portions of the region.
