HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING
What:
Dangerous rip currents.
Where:
Coastal Palm Beach County.
When:
Through Saturday evening.
Impacts:
Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.
Instructions:
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM SATURDAY TO 1 AM CDT SUNDAY
What:
For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents
expected. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of
3 to 9 feet expected in the surf zone.
Where:
Kenedy Island, Willacy Island and Cameron Island
Counties.
When:
For the High Rip Current Risk, from this evening
through Saturday evening. For the High Surf Advisory, from 1
AM Saturday to 1 AM CDT Sunday.
Impacts:
Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
Instructions:
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT
What:
Dangerous rip currents.
Where:
Coastal Volusia, Coastal Brevard, Coastal Indian River,
Coastal Saint Lucie and Coastal Martin counties.
When:
Through late tonight.
Impacts:
Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.
Instructions:
Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.

Entering the surf is strongly discouraged. If caught in a rip
current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If
able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
