The Flood Advisory continues for the following rivers in
Michigan...

Tahquamenon River near Paradise affecting Luce County.

.Snowmelt and recent rainfall are resulting in rivers reaching
elevated levels.
What:
Elevated river levels caused by rain and snowmelt continue.
Where:
Tahquamenon River near Paradise.
When:
Until further notice.
Impacts:
At 10.3 feet, The river is at the high water mark set in
May of 1960. No known significant flooding impacts are known for
river heights at or below this stage

- At 11:45 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 10.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.5 feet.

FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING
What:
Small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.
Where:
In Minnesota, Cook and Lake Counties.
When:
Until 600 PM CDT Tuesday.
Impacts:
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
River or stream flows are elevated. Flooding is occurring on area
rivers that are popular for waterfall viewing.
Additional Details:
- At 1004 AM CDT Tuesday, river gauges continue to suggest that
there are areas of high water and localized minor flooding
from Monday's rainfall. No additional rainfall is expected.
One to two inches of rain that has already fallen and
snowmelt runoff in Cook County will keep river levels
elevated today. The Baptism River and Beaver River in Lake
County are also experiencing high flows today due to runoff
from the one to two inches of rainfall yesterday and last
night.

Grand Marais, Gunflint Lake, Silver Bay, Grand Portage,
Lutsen, Tofte, Beaver Bay, Eagle Mountain, Cascade River
State Park, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness North of
the Gunflint Trail, Temperance River State Park, Sea Gull
Lake, Little Saganaga Lake, Taconite Harbor, Saganaga Lake,
Alpine Lake, Judge Magney State Park, Judge C. R. Magney
State Park, Sugar Loaf Cove and Hovland.

deaths occur in vehicles.

Campers and hikers should avoid flooded trail crossings. If camping
at a site along or near the banks of rivers or streams, move away
from those locations and seek higher ground. Trails in hilly terrain
can quickly become unstable during or shortly after heavy rainfall.

Creek and Little Salt Creek.

Impacts:
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
River or stream flows are elevated.
Additional Details:
- At 817 AM EDT, Minor flooding continues in the advisory area.
Between 3 and 5 inches fell yesterday and overnight. While
smaller creeks and streams are receding, medium sized basins
are still above flood stage and beginning to crest.
- Flooding impacts will continue particularly near streams such
as Smothers Creek near Plainville and Beaver Creek at Shoals,
but no additional rainfall is expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Vincennes, Bedford, Washington, Shoals, Mitchell, Bicknell,
Loogootee, Odon, Oolitic, Medora, Elnora, Oaktown, Monroe
City, Wheatland, Bruceville, Plainville, Sandborn,

Sturgeon River near Alston.

Until tomorrow evening.
Impacts:
At 8.0 feet, Homes and structures along the low lying
areas and numerous roads become impacted by flood water. In
Houghton County...Sturgeon River Road...Aho Road...and Rajala Road
are impacted. In Baraga County...Sturgeon Road...Halonen Road and
Usitalo Road are impacted. Along Froberg Road...Tahtinen Road...
Irwin Road...Oliver Road...and Shirley Road are impacted.
Additional Details:
- At 9:30 PM EDT Monday the stage was 7.2 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 7.3
feet early Wednesday morning.
