This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central

.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Extensive ice cover on area rivers may cause localized ice jam
flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday and Saturday...
Elevated to Significant Snow Risk near the lake.
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Sunday night...
Limited Snow Risk.
Late Tuesday through Wednesday...
Limited Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Accumulating lake effect snow is expected near Lake Michigan
Friday morning through Saturday evening. An initial wave is
expected to bring a burst of snow to northeast Illinois and
northwest Indiana Friday morning into the afternoon, potentially
as far south as the Kankakee River and as far west as I-39. Roads
may quickly become snow covered leading to hazardous travel
conditions.
The main area of lake effect snow is then expected to shift
across northwest Indiana Friday night into Saturday. Snowfall
rates may reach 1 to 3 inches per hour at times, leading to
significantly-impact travel, although uncertainty in the exact
band placement remains. A final burst of lake effect snow may
impact parts of the northeast Illinois shore on Saturday as
activity winds down.
Extensive ice cover on area rivers may cause localized ice jam
flooding.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
