Dense Fog Advisory

What:
Dense fog will reduce visibility to 1 NM or less.

Where:
Upper Texas Coast and Bays.

When:
Until 6 AM CST Friday.

Impacts:
Periods of sea fog will result in low visibility that
will make navigation difficult. There will likely be breaks in
the fog during the duration of this advisory. However,
intermittent periods of low visibility are expected to occur
along the upper Texas Coast and bays through the rest of today
and into tonight.

Instructions:
If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.

Areas Impacted:
Matagorda Bay
Galveston Bay
Coastal waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX out 20 NM
Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.

Visibility as low as one-quarter to one-half mile in dense
fog.

Where:
Anchorage.

When:
Until noon AKST today.

Impacts:
Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
Below freezing temperatures may lead to frost on bridges and
roadways.

Additional Details:
Patchy dense fog is currently being observed.
Use caution as there may be large variations in visibility over
short distances due to fog moving around.

Instructions:
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced
to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your
headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be
alert for frost on bridge decks and roadways causing slippery
conditions.
