FLOOD ADVISORY FOR SNOWMELT REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM EDT SATURDAY
What:
Small stream flooding caused by snowmelt continues.
Where:
A portion of central Upper Michigan, including the
following county, Marquette.
When:
Until 1115 AM EDT Saturday.
Impacts:
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
River or stream flows are elevated.
Additional Details:
- At 1027 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated snowmelt and some
rainfall over the past few days is causing small stream
flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused
minor flooding in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Skandia and Carlshend.

Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MONDAY MORNING
The Flood Advisory is extended for the following rivers in
Michigan...

Chocolay River near Harvey affecting Marquette County.
What:
Elevated river levels caused by rain and snowmelt continue.
Where:
Chocolay River near Harvey.
When:
Until Monday morning.
Impacts:
At 10.0 feet, Water inundates the entire parking lot at
the M-28 bridge...and the fishing pier begins to be submerged.
Water inundates low lying areas along Timber Lane and Riverside
Road downstream of the river gauge site
Additional Details:
- At 7:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 9.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.9
feet tomorrow morning.
- Action stage is 9.5 feet.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
